In Tanzania’s Rubeho Mountains, for example, partner organization Compassionate Carbon is making 40-year commitments protecting 260,900 hectares of forest while restoring 10,000 hectares. These forests provide water for 7.5 million people in Dar es Salaam and harbor species found nowhere else on Earth. The project partners with 92,458 people across 40 villages, making sure communities lead the work and benefit for generations.
