How is my donation used?
Your donation supports our mission to mobilize philanthropic capital for landscape restoration through strategic partnerships with implementation organizations. Eden allocates resources according to evidence-based standards:
- Partner Grants: 70–80% of contributions are deployed directly to implementation partners conducting landscape restoration, community engagement, and ecosystem monitoring
 - Partner Support & Evaluation: 10–15% supports Eden’s partner vetting, relationship management, impact verification, and capacity-building assistance
 - Fundraising & Development: 5–8% funds donor cultivation, grant prospecting, and impact communications
 - Operations & Administration: 5–8% covers core headquarters functions including financial management, compliance, and systems
 
This allocation reflects our commitment to lean operations: more of your support reaches landscape restoration work through our partner network than traditional large intermediaries. Allocation percentages may vary slightly based on the specific campaign or geographic focus you support, but Eden maintains these target ranges across all giving channels.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Eden: People+Planet is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID: 95-4804581). Your contribution is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
An automated donation receipt is sent to your email immediately after your gift is processed. You can use this receipt for tax purposes. For annual tax summaries covering all your contributions in a calendar year, check your email in early January.
For corporate donors: Depending on your company structure and giving program, corporate gifts may qualify for additional tax benefits. We recommend consulting your tax advisor or corporate giving administrator regarding the specific tax treatment of your contributions.
How do I get a receipt for my donation?
Your donation receipt is sent automatically to the email address you provided. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) immediately after giving.
Your receipt includes:
- Donation date and amount
 - Campaign or designation (if applicable)
 - Eden’s Tax ID (95-4804581)
 - Statement that Eden is a 501(c)(3) organization
 
Keep your receipt for tax purposes. If you can’t find it, contact info@eden-plus.org and we’ll resend it.
Can I designate my gift to a specific campaign or geographic region?
Yes. When you give through giving.eden-plus.org, you can choose to support:
- General Fund: Supports all landscape restoration work globally, allowing us to respond to emerging opportunities and deploy capital where impact is greatest
 - Specific Campaigns: Featured campaigns supporting particular restoration initiatives, geographic regions, or implementation partners
 - Partner-Specific Support: Direct support for named implementation partners conducting landscape restoration
 
Your gift designation is recorded and ensures your support reaches the work you care most about. Campaign availability may change seasonally as new initiatives launch and others conclude.
What if I want to support a location or partner where Eden no longer works?
Thank you for your continued commitment to landscape restoration. As Eden’s partner portfolio evolves, we occasionally transition away from geographic areas or shift our support model.
If you were supporting work in a region or with a partner where Eden no longer operates, we recommend:
- General Fund Transfer: Redirect your support to our general fund, which enables landscape restoration globally through our current partner network

Monthly & Recurring Gifts
How does monthly recurring giving work?
Monthly gifts are processed automatically using your preferred payment method (credit card or bank account via ACH). Your subscription begins immediately and continues on the same date each month you established it.
Managing your subscription:
- Update your payment method anytime through your online account dashboard
 - Modify your monthly giving amount without canceling and restarting
 - Pause your subscription temporarily if needed
 - Cancel anytime—no questions asked, no commitment required
 
If your payment method expires or becomes invalid, you’ll receive an email notification giving you time to update your information before your next scheduled donation. If payment fails, our system will attempt reprocessing once before notifying you.
How often are monthly donations charged?
Monthly donations are processed on the same date each month that you originally established your subscription. For example, if you created your recurring gift on the 15th, you’ll be charged on the 15th of each month.
If your recurring date falls on a day that doesn’t exist in a given month (e.g., the 31st in February), the charge will process on the last day of that month.
Will I be notified if my payment method expires?
Yes. If your payment method expires or becomes invalid, you’ll receive an email notification giving you time to update your information before your next scheduled donation is processed. You can update your payment method anytime through your account dashboard.
Can I change my gift amount or payment method?
Yes. You can update your recurring gift amount or payment method anytime through your account dashboard:
- Log in to your account at giving.eden-plus.org
 - Navigate to “My Subscriptions” or “Recurring Gifts”
 - Select the gift you want to modify
 - Update your amount or payment method
 - Save your changes
 
Changes take effect immediately for future donations. If you need assistance, contact our donor support team.
How do I cancel my recurring donation?
You can cancel anytime—no questions asked:
- Log In: Access your account at giving.eden-plus.org
 - Manage Subscriptions: Navigate to “My Subscriptions” or “Recurring Gifts”
 - Cancel: Select the recurring gift you want to stop and click “Cancel Subscription”
 - Confirm: Confirm your cancellation
 
Your recurring donation will stop immediately and you won’t be charged again. You can reactivate a gift at any time. If you need help, contact info@eden-plus.org.
Payment & Processing
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept:
- Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
 - Bank Accounts: ACH transfers (checking or savings accounts)
 
All payment processing is handled securely through Stripe, an industry-leading payment processor that meets the highest security standards.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payment processing is encrypted and handled through Stripe, which maintains PCI DSS Level 1 certification—the highest security standard in the payment industry. Eden never stores your full credit card or banking information on our servers; Stripe handles all sensitive data securely.
My donation didn’t go through. What happened?
If your donation failed to process:
- Check Your Payment Method: Verify your card hasn’t expired or your bank account information is current
 - Check Your Email: We send notifications if a payment fails—check your spam folder
 - Verify Your Amount: Ensure you entered a valid donation amount (minimum $1)
 - Try Again: Sometimes temporary payment processing issues resolve quickly; you can retry
 
If payment continues to fail:
- Contact Stripe support through our payment page (they handle payment issues)
 - Email info@eden-plus.org with your account details and the error message you received
 - Include your donation date/time and the specific error shown
 
I was charged twice for my donation. What do I do?
Duplicate charges are rare but can occur. If this happens:
- Don’t Panic: We can quickly resolve this
 - Check Your Account: Log in and verify if you have two separate donations or if it’s a display issue
 - Contact Our Team: Email info@eden-plus.org with your account details, the donation date, and amounts charged
 - We’ll Investigate: Our team will review the transaction and process a refund if warranted
 
Keep your bank/credit card statements as documentation.
What does “Stripe” mean on my bank statement?
All donations to Eden: People+Planet are processed through Stripe, a secure payment processor. When you give to Eden, your bank statement or credit card statement will show:
- “Stripe” or “Stripe Payments” as the merchant name
 - Eden’s Tax ID or name in the transaction details or memo
 
This is normal and secure. If you have questions about a specific charge, contact info@eden-plus.org with the transaction date and amount.
Communications & Updates
What kind of updates will I receive?
All donors receive an automated donation receipt via email. Beyond that, you control your communication preferences:
- Newsletter: Opt in to receive our monthly newsletter featuring restoration stories, partner updates, and impact reporting
 - Campaign Updates: Choose to follow specific campaigns or geographic regions, receiving targeted updates on work you’re supporting
 - Annual Report: All supporters receive our annual impact report showing portfolio-level outcomes and organizational stewardship

How do I manage my communication preferences?
You control all communication:

Account Management
How do I create an account?
Creating an account is simple:
- Visit: giving.eden-plus.org
 - Click “Give Now” or “Create Account”
 - Enter Email: Provide your email address (your account login)
 - Create Password: Set a secure password
 - Complete Profile: Add your name and contact information
 - Make Your First Donation or Set Up Recurring Gift
 
Your account is created immediately and you can manage all your donations and preferences through it.
How do I access my donation receipt or account information?
Your donation receipt is sent automatically to the email address you provided. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) immediately after giving.
To access your account, view donation history, manage recurring subscriptions, or update communication preferences, log in to your account on giving.eden-plus.org using the email address you used to create your account.
If you can’t find your receipt or access your account:
- Check your spam/junk folder—automated receipts sometimes get filtered
 - Try resetting your password through the login page

How do I reset my password?
If you forget your password:
- Visit: giving.eden-plus.org login page
 - Click “Forgot Password?”
 - Enter Email: Provide the email associated with your account
 - Check Email: We’ll send a password reset link
 - Create New Password: Click the link and set a new password
 
The reset link expires after 24 hours for security. If it expires, you can request a new one.
Can I have multiple accounts?
We recommend maintaining one account per email address to keep your donation history organized and clear. If you’ve accidentally created multiple accounts, contact info@eden-plus.org and we can help consolidate them.
How do I download my tax documents?
Your tax documents are available through your account dashboard:
- Log In: Access giving.eden-plus.org
 - My Donations: View all your donations and receipts
 - Download: Click any receipt to download a PDF copy
 - Annual Summary: Annual tax summaries are emailed in January (also available in your account)
 
How do I update my billing address or payment method?
Update your information anytime through your account:

Eden transitioned from tree-planting metrics to comprehensive landscape restoration measurement to better reflect the complexity of real-world restoration work.
Why we changed:
- Tree-planting counts alone don’t capture ecosystem health or long-term outcomes
 - Landscape-scale metrics (hectares under restoration, biodiversity indicators, community benefits) provide more accurate impact assessment
 - Comprehensive monitoring includes environmental, social, and governance outcomes—not just tree survival rates
 
What we measure now:
- Hectares under restoration and protection management
 - Ecosystem health indicators (biodiversity, water security, soil health)
 - Community benefits (livelihoods created, governance capacity, equitable benefit-sharing)
 - Carbon sequestration and emissions avoided (where applicable)

Why did you transition from tree planting to landscape restoration?
High-integrity landscape restoration creates far greater impact than tree planting alone:
